Mélé aux luttes entre Roi d'Angleterre et Roi de France, forteresse royale à la fin du XV° siècle, il devient la résidence des présidents du parlement de Bordeaux au XVI° et XVII° siècles.

Built by the Escoussan family, the Langoiran Castle was one of the most prestigious sites in the region.
In the centre of the struggles between the Kings of England and France, the castle became the property of the french Royal Family at the end of the 15th century, after which the presidents of the Bordeaux Parliament lived there from the end of the 16th century to the middle of the 17th.
